Stakeholder Engagement

Tobermory Harbour is committed to consultation and accountability to Stakeholders.

To achieve this, formal Port User Group (PUG) meetings are held at least twice a year, with informal drop in sessions and communications held regularly throughout the year. This is to ensure representatives of Harbour Users are able to highlight, discuss and resolve practical issues affecting safe management and operations within Harbour Limits.

See Notice to Mariners and Harbour Guidelines for formal publications.

Incident and Accident Reporting

THA operates an Incident and Accident Reporting procedure.

These are logged in the Incident Reporting File.

It is the THA’s policy to encourage the reporting and investigating of near misses as if the incident had occurred.

The reporting procedure is as follows:

An occurrence such as an incident or accident, see definitions below, should be reported to any THA staff member during or after the event, by any suitable means available, without putting an individual in greater danger. You may contact THA using either Office or Duty Mobile number found here.

Incident

A single distinction event or ‘near-miss’
